Aims of the project

The One Million Points Of Light Project allows thousands of groups and individuals to collaborate on the construction of an abstract, online, image which does not exist but which can be seen, globally, at any location were there is an internet connection and computer.

The Project is made up of a web page constructed from one million pixels of light (hence the name) and these are grouped into blocks of 100.  Some people have switched on a single block of 100 pixels.  Others have 'carved' a name, letters or simple shapes.

People taking part in the Project simply select where they would like their block to appear on the site's homepage, they can then choose a colour, add a message and link the block to their own web site, or any other site they find interesting.

Participants can switch on as many block as they wish (as long as they touch each other).  A small fee of £2.50 is charged for each block which is used to maintain and promote the project.

If you would like to take part in the Project, and switch on a block of light, please go to www.OneMillionPointsOfLight.com
